Two people ended up at Mount Sinai West after falling on an escalator at the Upper West Side Trader Joe's on September 22. The store had only reopened September 12 following a roughly four-month closure that included escalator and elevator upgrades. Falls under five feet, minor injuries, but the timing is hard to ignore. Post-renovation incidents raise real questions: commissioning process, final inspection sign-off, public readiness. Have any of you seen patterns where newly upgraded units have early-operation issues? What does your post-installation checkout actually look like before a unit goes back into public service?
